Saw these in my pro shop in Connecticut and grabbed a sleeve. Conversation with our assistant pro was that the spin rates on the ProV1 and ProV1X have come closer together in the last few years and the AVX was meant to be a lower spinning ball off the tee, but still have tour quality soft feel. While it was warm in CT for late November (50 degrees) it was exceptionally windy (guessing 15mph consistently with 30mph gusts). I normally play a ProV1X and would say this ball is as long off the tee. Some of the down wind tee shots seemed to go forever, but that could have been conditions. I had to get used to the spin on wedge shots and around the green. The ball feels extremely good coming off the face, but it definitely spins less on those wedge and short iron shots (which is what I’m looking for). I agree with the other poster about the price point. They were as expensive as ProV’s but from a performance perspective, that’s where this ball lives. This is not an NXT or velocity replacement. You can tell by looking at the cover when you pull one out of the sleeve. I’ll certainly pick up a box to play on golf trips over the winter or wait to try them out in optimal conditions next year.
