  1. For me it depends on the course, day, and type of round. Some times there is nothing better than pulling out a new ball and addressing it on the first tee. Other times it works to grab a good but "gently used" golf ball. But definitely a Titleist. :)

LOL - I'm notorious for playing a ball until it's lost or cracked. My record is 13 rounds with one ball. You can't read any of the lettering, but you can still tell it's a Titleist ProV1. I don't know why I stopped at 13 rounds - my plan was to play it until the cover cracked.

I always start with a new ProV1x.  It just keeps things fresh for me and helps me shake off the bad round I had before.

Yes and no, if I'm just playing with the members or my boss or my head pro then ill just use an old ball, hey don't judge i don't get them free haha. But if I'm playing in a tournament then I'm more than likely going to use brand new balls on the first tee and then sometimes when that ball is a little scuffed ill use another one on like the 8th or something (or whenever its scuffed).

    Mike,

I do the same, have to have the new Pro V1x feel to get going with the best mind set. It just sets to tone for a great day and round.

    Thanks,

First ball always a new one then I can and will use the ball from the previous round if necessary

Personally, I always like to pull a new Pro V1x out of the sleeve on the first tee. It has been a tradition for me for as long as I can remember, and to me, there's just something special about starting a round with a new golf ball.

But I do have some friends that prefer to start a round with a ball that has a little previous experience making its way around a golf course.

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting to see what Team Titleist has to say...

No, what difference does it make?

To be honest w/ the price of golf balls as high as they are, I will rotate 2-3 balls at a time until I really need to change (mark on ball or lost).

Teeing off on the first tee is like the kiss of death for me.  I need to settle my nerves and get in the groove!  Usually I switch to a new ball on the third or fourth hole.

  10. For casual play I usually start with a used ProV1x. Any tournament golf, always a new one to start. Tom M

First few rounds of the year I grab an experienced ball.  Then later in the year I start with a new one

99% of the time it's a new ball.  There is that rare occasion that I've run out and have to play with what's in the bag.  A new ball always make me feel that a good round is possible.

I almost always start the round with a new Pro V1 it helps with confidence and gets the round starting off the right way for me

I always tee up a new ball...part mental, and I usually have to put a new distinguishing mark pending who I'm playing with in my group. Other than that, just feels good playing a fresh ball off first tee, pending the outcome of first 9, sometimes pull another at the bend if the balls a little beat up, if I'm having an epic round that ball isn't going anywhere!

  15. I always wait a couple of holes until I see how I'm striking the ball, especially if the first shot is over water!

Most of the time I don't get to the range before playing or the courses don't have a range.

It may be mostly psychological but there something about a fresh start to every round...

A new Pro V1x ball makes me tense on the first tee and I will pull it into the water on the left of our first fairway at The Woodlands Club. I play a warmup ball, definitely a Pro V1x, but one I used the previous round. it helps me relax and I usually hit a new Pro V1x on the second hole, an easier par four.

  18. Most definitely. It's a routine thing for me.

I believe a golf ball is a lot like a tennis ball ,it feels more lively right out of the sleeve.

I can usually get a few rounds out of a PRO V1 before it starts to show some wear and tear. That said, I can't wait to tee up a brand new one as soon as this snow melts!

It really depends on the round. If I'm playing a casual round with my wife or a buddy, no. I will play a used ball. If I am playing a more competitive round, I will always play a new ball.
