What is the general view of having a graphite shaft in a Vokey wedge?
I have Titleist though my bag other than my JPX900 irons and png/miz wedges
that have Recoil 95 F4 shafts. Looking for improvement I made a special order for a new set of Vokeys 50F, 54M and 58K from Titleist with the same shaft. After 12 months trying to get used to them I was so disappointed, have now stopped using them and have gone back to my Pings. Result from full shots were fine but for less than a full shot I could never tell where the head was and that all too often resulted in an annoying shank and lack of confidence. I even had them rebuilt by a professional club maker with an improvement but not a solution.
I have no problem with the miz or png wedges with the same shaft and seem to like a light wedge. My short game would normally be a strong part of my game (h/c 12). It has been suggested the problem may be the Vokey heads are heavier than normal. I have no access to Titleist wedge fitting for graphite shafts.
It has certainly been an expensive exercise but I would still fancy a Vokey set that suited me. Is it possible? Any or all suggestions welcome.
