Hey, Team Titleist!
At Titleist, we look at golf ball performance in terms of Flight, Spin and Feel. By designing golf ball models that deliver significant differences in Flight, Spin and Feel, you can find just the right golf ball to optimize performance for your individual game. Check out the video above, where we took a closer look at the second of these critical performance characteristics - Spin.
In the short game, spin is the key to control. On chips and pitches I’ll take as much spin as I can get. But as I get farther away from the green - distance wedges and short iron shots - I have a hard time controlling a higher spinning golf ball. It’s difficult for me to keep the flight down and predict the spin once the ball hits the green. This is where Pro V1 has been a great choice for me. I can transition easily from finesse wedges to iron shots and I know just how the ball will fly and react upon landing on the green (provided I do my part and execute properly). And in the wind, knowing how my ball will spin becomes even more important.
What about you? How important a consideration is spin when it comes to your game and your golf ball model?
