So I was watching the ladies today(LPGA) and saw them using a drone for certain TV shots and wondered what would happen if they hit a drone. Mulligan ,tuff do do , what say you?

My guess is they have a local rule in place to accomodate this unlikely occurence. I think of it similar to course that have a wire crossing a fairway. Each course has their own local rule on how to proceed if they are struck.
I would be hard pressed ot imagine that a tour event would allow for a mulligan though.

Under the rules of golf, you would play the ball where it ends up.

If it destroyed the drone, their playing partners should all buy buy her or him a drink.

I guess technically it's not a TIO since it's not "immovable," so that would mean, play it as it lies with no penalty. It's one of those things that will require a "Ruling on the Rules of Golf" because the existing rules do not factor in tech like flying drones. Ideally, I would believe it would a re-hit with no penalty.

Guess it would be like hitting a bird in flight. Play it where it lies. Poor bird, but could happen. Geese get hit all the time on our course. Part of the game.

They will fire the drone pilot. They should, like on ground camera crews, be out of the line of flight. They use them in PGA televised events too. Robert MacIntyre made a big deal about them after his win at the Canadian Open.

Seems like some players lately have voiced their displeasure in the humming sound of drones buzzing around tournament grounds.

I say toughen up boys and girls!!! LOL

Unless they invoke a local rule like local rule E11 it would fall under rule 19.1 Outside agency

Do you mean 11.1? Rule 19 is for unplayables.

It's Independence Day so thank you for being a Marine.

Model local rule E11 concerns hitting power line , 14.6 on how to replay shot

Fat fingers on tablet and I did not recheck before sending

I would say play it where it lies. Lots of bad luck to be found on a golf course...

It would be just like a power line. Re tee and re hit. No penalty.

Also no choice to play it where it lies. You have to re hit even if it went in the hole. No options
