Okay, it occurs to me that sometimes I can be a bit stubborn and opinionated (so my wife says) and that may occasionally bleed over into my posts. Just like on the golf course, I want to treat my fellow TT'rs with respect and understanding for their posts and opinions. Especially these days when everyone seems to have a heightened sensitivity and we just have lost our ability to have frequent face-to-face dialogue. My intend is never to imply that my opinion is somehow better than anyone else's and that your comments are not valued and appreciated. I am so glad we have this opportunity here on this site and I want to continue to nurture it and treat it with the same respect I would treat each of you on the golf course. Please feel free to call me out and remind me if i step on any toes out there. My intent is always good, execution maybe not always on par.

Well said Dale, but you needn't worry as far as I'm concerned. Your comments in they forum are often insightful and always on point. You're correct about heightened sensitivity, but that's the world we live in now.

Having met and talked with you at the Vokey experience at Pinehurst last year , I know you are a true gentleman and a guardian of the game of golf. I think your posts have always been thoughtful and informative.

While the latest is "hurtfeelyoma" right now. I have to say I don't post a lot but I've never read anything you have put out there that would be offensive.
  5. I for one always appreciate your posts / responses. Whenever I have an issue that I post on here you are typically the first to respond and give good advice.

Oh, Dale, you are fine... many if not all I've read from you were all good. They're informative, directive and helpful. No one is perfect and we all face different challenges each day and they may be a little different level of degree from one another, however, I like what I read from you... though maybe I need to see myself in the mirror myself. So maybe this is a good checkpoint for all of us in the community. Yeah, if had to criticize you, here's what I have to say: I like your posts, your gears, and all the places you've played golf at... AND SO I'M JEALOUS, OKAY!!! lol :-)

Dale, I don't know you very well, but I respect your opinions very much. You are one of the top TT members. Hopefully one day we get to play a round or two...you know...when I get out of NJ. Stay well!
  8. Dale, I don't view your posts a being out of line in any way. It does get old when the majority of the post are "how do I get free stuff". That's not the point of this community.

It would be nice (as I've seen in other forums) to have pinned threads for new members to read that this isn't about free bag tags, other swag and being chosen for a ball tester.

I do like the fact that Allan offer contests and other sweeps. Not everybody wins, but those that do cherish their prizes.

I just wish people would realize that Titleist owes us nothing. We support their product because of the love of the game, they happen to give a little back here and there. Think of that $70,000 Yukon you just purchased or even the $30,000 Ford Escape, what did those manufactures give you? An oil change if you are lucky. How many sets of clubs would you have to purchase in your lifetime to reach $70,000 (and still have a wife)?

    My thoughts anyway.

I've been on other golf related sites and things can get pretty heated and sometimes downright nasty. A lot of opinions are not respected and people are called out on them. One long time member even dropped out and stated the reason was lack of respect and civility toward one another.

This site however is very very civil and I think just about everyone's opinions are respected and acknowledged.
My thoughts are some people like chocolate...some people like vanilla and I let it go at that.

I still believe that opinions should be shared on this site and believe it provides a new perspective on topics.

But hey....this is just my opinion! HA!

I enjoy what you have to say and can't imagine what prompted your post. My wife tells me "it's your tone of voice", which of course doesn't come across in the printed word, but people can misconstrue intent and meaning.

My daughter and son in law are transferring into Marine Air Station Miramar at the end of the month, meaning we'll have a welcoming winter location to visit. I hope to make contact with you and get in a round of golf when the time comes.

Thanks everyone for the nice responses. No specific post where I felt regret for anything I said but a few I might have worded differently or just left alone for others to respond. Appreciate all of you very much and hope you and your families stay safe and well in the days ahead. So hope we get to have the October events as scheduled. For those not attending this year, enjoy some local rounds and hopefully we bump into each other in the future (well, maybe not bump but a properly social distancing wave).
  17. Hi Dale, I have never seen you post anything that would be considered not nice. I enjoy your opinion.

It would help in this day and age if everyone could lighten up and not take offense at what they feel to be the slightest suggestion of criticism. There are many agendas out there though important to us, may not be a priority to the majority. Incidents like 9/11 prove we can work together to make a better world. Golf should be a happy diversion to an already chaotic life.

I have greatly reduced posting on this site, and I'm even thinking of leaving it all together because of a variety of reasons. I joined in May of 2010 when I believe this forum was just starting. It was a place to post their support and celebrate all things and all people who love the Titleist brand. Tell great stories about their experiences involving Titleist products. But it seems like this pure expression of all things Titleist have veered off course a little. I'm not offended by what anyone says. Words are words. What's import is how someone says what they say. But since we can't hear the subtext or intonation of what people say, and only read their words, it seems to me that a small percentage of people have another agenda that surrounds the first person singular. Arrogance and know-it-alls really rub me the wrong way. Other people go off topic of what is being posted. A few years ago, I was posting the number of rounds I played. Passing, 100, 200, 300 and over 400 rounds for the year. Every time I was excited to post these great numbers, a T.T. member would continue to tell me that some stranger who set the world record posted so many more. Instead of celebrating my accomplishments, this person would continually pee on my parade. I stopped posting my accomplishments after this. I had another person, who I don't know and never met, private message me and told me not to post or show what I had received from Titleist because, I guess, he was jealous. Really seemed odd to me that a grown man would be jealous of some swag. By and large, 99% of people are great. The other ones, not so much.

Vurich, that was a surprise to hear that there are those people in the community- it's hard to believe that they would even go as far as sending you a private message for something that we all enjoy to see.

What we have here, I think is like golf itself. I would always recognize my competitor/opponent for something s/he did well on whether I'm ahead or not. That's just how golf is to me and how this community is and I have carried that onto this site and have done so for the ones I've encountered who merits recognition. But wow, never a negative feedback on anything someone had accomplish nor received as a gift. This is where we share good thoughts, good stuff and good golf as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think you should worry nor pay any attention to those whom have expressed their displeasures on something commendable including the swags and even if I don't receive anything, that's not an issue for me- nor it should be for any others. I like the brand Titleist, and I enjoy the group here and that's why most of us is here. If there are things I don't like or agree with or don't understand, I would just move on and not comment on it.

Come back and have fun with us again. I'm sure it's not just me who misses good posts from you, and btw, I would love to be able to play 400 rounds a year! Envious or jealous, you can say that about me, but that's true and it is commendable!

    Cheers, man!

Hmm. I hope I'm not one. Having taken up the sport at 59 and still hoping to get 30 rounds a year in at 70 and still working, I live vicariously through the aces, albatrosses, eagles, breaking par, and breaking 80 of the folks on this site. My worst emotion for someone over 100 rounds a year is envy. Just wish I could... I've learned at least half of what I know about golf through the Titleist forums. With guys like you talking about their irons, hybrids, putters, etc, I can get a feel for how the equipment is appreciated. Forums like GolfWRX more than half the respondents are haters. Just different haters for TM, Callie, or Titleist products asking for opinions. Boy, do they get them.

Hopefully I will be able to continue to enjoy your successes into the future.

Don't let the printed words from anyone push you away from something you like/love to do. They win ,not sure about you but I hate to lose. Keep um in the fairways and hit um long my friend, Dave....

same here. I used to really like this place and most folks on here are just fine but there is a handful of users that come across as snobby, elitist, whatever word you want to use. Some have been down right rude, especially through private messages. Because of this I don't come here as often, don't really have the desire to contribute like I once did (since like what you experienced will be met with attitude) and if I can be quite honest, that group of folks have really turned me off of Titleist as a brand. I know I'm in the minority here as it seems TT has a really good community with events, etc... but just doesn't seem like a place for me to really get in and comfortable with. And that is perfectly ok.
  25. Vurich

I am truly sorry that people on this site have treated you so poorly. I always thought that Titleist people were respectful, but it seems as though the world's issues have seeped to our place. Please don't go away. I have always looked forward to your insights and suggestions. However, there is one thing I can tell you. 400 rounds in one year? Better you than me. If I tried to play that much I would probably be looking for a good burial sight.
Keep the faith and please keep coming back.
