Did a fitting today with my cousin at a Scotty Cameron Showcase location. It was interesting, and fairly thorough. He first had me make putts with my current putter (2021 Phantom X 5.5), then went through a few other current styles. As a lefty, it was a bit limited, but I outed with a Special Select Newport 2, Newport 2.5+, GOLO 6.5, and a Del Mar.
After making a bunch of putts with them on a laser equipped putting table and in front of a Trackman, he recommended that I switch to the Newport 2 in 35” (I had previous been fit and 34” was the length suggested).
Overall, I thought the process was interesting, and the fitter was knowledgeable, I’ll probably end up ordering through him, though I’m also thinking of I could find a Newport Jet Set in new or mint condition, I might go that direction as well.
