So I go and get fit for a putter and it was between Phantom 5 or 11. The fitter said I needed the face balanced with my stroke. I didn’t like the look of the putter compared to the 5.5. So I went with the 5.5 and had it bent 4 degrees flat. I know the face balanced story and believe in it but the 5.5 has improved my putting and confidence level. I make more putts than I ever have. Shot my first ever even par round and had 24 putts. So to me I think it’s whatever fits your eye more than the stroke.

Hopefully, you’re alignment, ball position, lie angle , head position were all checked out and adjusted as necessary. You stated you adjusted the lie angle on the putter you selected. So, you completed a fitting but chose a different putter. The proof is in your recent results. Fittings are great and necessary but the club has to look good to you. Congratulations on your selection and great round. Stick with it and have fun.

Heard it said that the key to being a successful putter is to deliver the putter head with the right energy at impact and the club face pointing in the right direction and do that consistently well. Makes sense to me. Consistency. Sounds like you go it going.

How about "got it going". This age thing gets in the way of making good sense sometimes. Right, Dale?
