Long story short, I was in my friends uncle’s garage looking at his old clubs. He is a retired surgeon that was awful but just loved playing. He developer cancer and didn’t play anymore. I found a Scotty Cameron putter in his bag. Super rusted, no headcover and dirty. He had no idea what or who Scotty Cameron was. I offered to buy it and he ended up giving it to me.
I looked up how to get the initial rust off and did as good as I could. You can see it still has quite a bit of rust spots. I do plan on eventually getting it restored. My questions are the following:
How can I tell exactly which year this is, without or until I send it in the get certified? Archives show it could be 1995-97 from pics.
Does this look authentic to you all? If so, how rare is this one?
Any recommendations on if I should get it restored back to original specs because of it being rare? I didn’t want to add sight lines or anything to devalue it.
Thanks for the input and whatever other comments you all have.
