2019 Teryllium T22 putters longevity

    With the new design of the Teryllium putters, is there anything you need to do to keep it looking new? I just got one and want to keep it looking great! I know the older ones would pit and rust but the new 303 stainless design would be different correct? Thanks a lot for any input!

    The insert will tarnish over time, like a penny. But, beyond protecting like you would any other putter, ie. clean your ball if it is sandy, wipe off any fertilizer, etc, and, use a head cover. It should stay looking great.

    I had an earlier version of the Teryllium putters. SC sells an oil rag that you can use on the face and club head before and after the round. Also, make sure that if you are playing in wet conditions, make sure to NOT keep the cover on the putter after the round while it dries. Finally, I had always kept the oil rag in the cover between rounds.

    As previously stated just wipe down after each putt & make sure it’s not damp or wet when the Scotty headcover goes back on. I wipe the face with a damp paper towel with clean water when I get home from playing. Should look beautiful year after year.

    I have been using the SC Oil Cloth on my T22 putters and it does an amazing job!

    Only thing I'd be aware of is to make sure you're not going to putt a sandy ball
    The insert is awesome, but sand does a number on it

    Bottomline, based upon all these posts and experience is just be smart and take care of your putter during and after your rounds.

    Enjoy the T22! It is one of the best putters Scotty has put out recently for sure!

    the new T22 has a totally different finish to the original ones, its much more practical although IMO not as aesthetic. It shouldn't be prone to rust up like the early models, just keep it clean and dry it off after use, and if your headcovers become wet or damp don't store your putter with it on, I learnt that lesson a while back with my first Scotty.

    It's not only the finish that makes them less prone to rust, but more so that these new Terylliums are stainless and not carbon like the original TeI3s.

    But you are absolutely right, no matter what it's made of, don't store your (any) putter in a damp cover.
