License plate frame...

    Good afternoon team Titleist members, I have a problem. I bought a Scotty Cameron license plate frame, and look what happened after winter. Is this common with these frames? I was just wondering, because this is the first time that I've noticed it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Salt kills...I'd just acrylic paint it up on rainy weekend.

    Looks like the rest of the tailgate has seen a rough winter too. Try black enamel touch up paint.

    I'd still like to see the oldies that used to say like the bumper sticker, "I'd rather be driving a Titleist", but haven't seen them for several years

    I'd go to hobby shop and pick up some acrylic paint and a 3 or 5 pack good small fine tipped paint brushes for like car models and a bottle of acetone. Then slowly and accurately repaint all the black and use q-tips and paper towel with the acetone to get rid of any paint that gets on parts you don't want it on.

    Should be pretty easy and may take up to 45 minutes, but again should be an easy fix.

    By the way killer license plate frame!! Where'd you find it? I'd like to pick one up or even a Titleist one. It reminds me of those old bumper stickers "I'd rather be driving a Titleist" from late 90's early 2000's.

    Those are still around if you look hard.

    I have the same plate cover, but I have not put it on my car for the reason above. Living in New England, I know they use salt and sand on the road, so that is what I would have expected to be honest.

    Sorry to see you live in a similar area and your plate cover was impacted

    Looks like the car didn't get a car wash all winter...
    I bet if you washed your car a few times the salt and de-icing chemicals would have not been to corrosive.

    I actually thought it might be the opposite. I get my SUV washed like clockwork every 3 weeks from the dealer. I thought maybe the extra washing and high pressure water was it....I am going to repaint it....

    I have a couple of those older frames he sold years ago through the studio store. Did the same thing with age. I have a couple of the new frames sold at the Gallery but they have not been battle tested yet.
