The new Cameron & Crown line from Scotty is really nice, very clean looking. I wonder if there is any chance of special ordering one with a length longer than 33"..... probably not.

I do have a question about this line though, other than the addition of 20 gram weights and a new smaller grip, what is the difference between the Cameron & Crown line putters and their 33" counterparts in the Select, GOLO & Futura lines? Aren't they also designed for players who need a 33" putter due to their set-up or height?

Not a terrible question, I have come to find and think that putter length fitting is a bit difficult. It's more about how the user addresses the ball. As a 5'8" guy, I still am fitted for a 34" putter, so I have to believe that if you are using a 33" putter that you hunch over quite a bit, or are very short. The lie/loft usually is based off of the turf that you are playing (fast/slow/upstroke), and the head shape is going to depend on your swing path in regard to toe lag/no toe lag.

Not sure if that was confusing, just trying to add insight. I can't possibly go back to a 33" putter that I was mis-using for a long time. I do like the color scheme, but am afraid this may have been an "Apple" type release of re-branding the same club. Given I own several Scotty's, I wouldn't be surprised to have one pass through the collection :slaps head:
  3. Its exact same thing, between both lines. The reason I like the crown more then the select line is 2 things. It looks much more cleaner. Also its some thing i always play with a 33" which I have golo 3 2014, and golo 3 2016. The option are only 4 models so i had to pick the M2 mallet to come close to the golo 3.
Plus I like white much better then red.
If you need a length longer stick with the select they are exactly the same. I think Scotty just went supply and demand. More people want 33" now these days. I have plenty of my friends that have 34" 35" but after trying my 33" they seem to like it better.
I guess the trend is that the shorter the shaft the easier to stroke the putter, or like irons better to swing more accurately.
To me its a personal preference you can get use to any type of putters, or clubs in general, once you get the feel for them. I tried the 34" but i choke down on the grip, so I guess ill stick with 33"

Just purchased a SELECT NEWPORT M2 MALLET as well and can't tell the difference between mines and the new Cameron & Crown besides color, grip size, and different logos. Anyways, I love my M2 - best putter I've used in a long time.
