Why zero drivers in top 10 Tour Distance

What is your point you trying to say? Why there are no Titleist staff players in the top 10 tour distance?
That is a ridiculous assumption. That is the same as why Donald Trump is driving the beast instead of his marine one?

Simply, the brand has nothing to do with total tour distance. It's the player, the person who is behind the club. Physical part, ets.

Also I can answer this question better as I am a tour caddie myself.
Every week the player and/or caddie get next to the score card on the 1st teebox a score card for stats.
Statts is a moment during the day.. you don't hit it every time 300+.
There are guys out there I can guaranty you that insert false statts. Simply because they want to feel and look good.

I've checked on the PGA Tour & European Tour in total driving distance. You see some names you possibly not familiar with. However this is all data collected from week to week. (average)
I know that Mcllroy or Adam Scott hit it by far 50yards further then the guys who are leading now.

So the brand doesn't let the player hit it further by far. It's the player who is behind it. Physically.

Now, I can hear you guys allready screaming.. why are the TS models giving me more distance? Well.. to be honest. Thanks to the latest hardware changes these days with the weight and aero dynamic changes you go can manipulate more distance by changes the weights and aero shapes to create more carry and/or roll outs. Which create longer possibly distance. But again.. this is a moment during the day.

Thanks for an inside the ropes take on this subject. Have always had a lot of respect for you guys. Have worked as a volunteer as a marshal/chair for over 25 years and actually got walk inside the ropes with Terry and Annika (personal security) when her tournament was here in Charleston. He is a great guy and we all know what kind of player she is. Got to know some other caddies during my years volunteering. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
  4. Thanks Bart, that is a pretty interesting set of observations. I would hazard to guess that for the vast majority of weekend warriors like myself, the attributes that you describe in the TS really help to mask and compensate for the fact that we do not consistently hit the ball in the center of the club face like professional golfers are able to do. At least that seems to be contributing to my improved distance and accuracy.

According to PGA Tour statistics by Shotlink, YTD Driving Distance stats for the week ending Oct. 28, has the only Titleist Brand Ambassador in the top 10 as Patrick Cantlay at number 6.

    Howdy guys, glad to share.
When I read the first article I felt like I had to comment on it. Wanted to give a better angle on this subject.
This week we reached South Africa. Some big names tee off this week.

I will see if I can share more stories from inside the ropes on tour. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
By the end of the week I will write an reply regarding stats on tour. Especially after this week I will give you guys a better view on this subject.

I don’t really see this as insight... this is more commonsensical. Regardless of sport, it always comes down to the athlete, throwing a football or hitting a baseball/golf ball etc...

I just read it as a simple question being asked. Based off of the question, zero are on the top 10 because nobody in the top 10 uses one.

No question, as we say on the course, it's the Indian not the arrow. At the tour level physical attributes trump manufacturers selection. Bubba Watson is going to obliterate the golf ball no matter whose driver he's using.

Does Titleist not try to sponsor the longest hitters or does png and TM have longer drivers for the tour level players?

I think Titleist would rather concentrate on helping a larger base of touring and teaching pros than invest huge dollars in just a few top players. It's a bit sad that they help out many of the young guys at a time when they need help and then when they hit it big, they just go to larger contract deals with other companies. It is the capitalistic way things work and I love that the USA is built on that concept. That said, there are a few guys that stay with Titleist throughout their entire career, even if they could get a few more dollars elsewhere.

I do not put much faith in the stats regarding who hits the ball farther. It does allow a few to pump their chests and it gives the announcers on TV something to talk about other than that I think the stat is a useless one.

The latest driving distance leaders. Has changed a bit. This is thru November 25th. What most folks go to see, how far they can pound it. I love to see good iron play and great putting.
