I had a free 4-some to Fox Hills in Plymouth, MI. I took a few buddies out for a Sunday afternoon round before the Lions SNF game. We decided to play a 2-man scramble to keep a fun and friendly match going. Hole 3 is a 180-150 yard par 3, depending on the tees, our distance was 158 yards. My playing partner Garret hit his tee shot to about 15 feet pin-high. I jokingly said “I don’t even need to hit! Great shot!” I hit my 8 iron as well as I could have and my friend Bren (and opponent at this moment in time) said “yeah I guess that’s decent” as my ball was dead on line with the pin, as sarcasm how we all compliment one another, like true friends do. The ball hit the green and almost immediately disappeared. I think it registered in everyone else’s heads before it did my own, but as we all looked at each other wide eyed, the cheers and yelling began. I took off in a full sprint to the green in disbelief while the guys grabbed the carts (and my club that I threw in the air in celebration). We proceeded to have one of the most fun rounds on the golf course I’ve ever had. What an experience to have with some of my closest friends!
