We were the first group to tee off on the 2nd day of a two day tournament. The first hole is a 173 yard par 3. My partner teed off and hit it to about 10ft. I was next and hit a cut that started at the left side of the green. It landed on the front left and continued to roll towards the pin. At this point I'm still holding my follow through and posing in a joking way. I watch it get close to the hole and roll past. At that point I come out of my pose and say, "Take my picture!" It is well known that i do not hit many greens in regulation, so I am extremely happy. The greens were rolling at a 12 and this green was sloped from back to front.With my back towards the hole, my wife, who was there as a spectator said, It's coming back! It just went in!" I have to say it was nothing like I imagined how it would go. I was silent and in disbelief. I gave my brother my range finder (who was playing in the group) to check for the ball, there was no ball. The walk across the green and to the hole was captured on video. It’s a memory I’ve waited 30 years for, and I’m extremely grateful that I got to share it with my wife and my brother.
