Playing in our Men’s Group at Patrick Farms Golf Club in Pearl, MS on August 20, 2024, I was having a good day. I birdied the first par 3 from 5 feet after tee shot landed 5” to right of the hole. I birdied the second par 3 from 7 feet short of the hole. Made the turn at 1 over par. Bogeyed 11 & 12 before making a birdie on par 5 #13 hole after missing an eagle by 6”. Then on the 133 yard par 3 #16, I hit a 8-Iron low into a good wind. I was recently diagnosed with “macular pucker” in my distance eye and have had trouble following my drives & some iron shots especially into the sun. When none of my 3 playing partners saw my yellow Titleist Trufeel ball & I did not find it on the green with my range finder, I drove down to the green & began looking over the backside of the green. Then Clay Rouse hollowed out “it’s up here in the hole”. With a big smile I retrieved the ball & took some pictures after my partners finished the hole. Finished the final 2 holes on a natural high with a one over par 73. Honored to make my first HOLE-IN-ONE on my deceased mothers birthday after 38 years of golfing!
