At the beginning of an early morning round at Robert A. Black on the north side of Chicago, on the second hole, I hit a 9 iron on the part 3 140-yard hole. Pin was in the far back-right of the green. I hit the ball on a low trajectory at the hole but it hit in front of the green and took a nice bounce towards the hole. Playing partner commented how lucky I was to get a good bounce!
I thought it was going to be a 15-ft putt for birdie, but when I got to the green I could see the ball was very close to the hole, and as I got even closer, I could see the ball was actually in the hole, but still halfway above the surface of the green, leaning against the pin. One of the grounds crew who was mowing around the green came running up to take a picture of the ball, so another witness besides my playing partner. :)
First hole in one of my golfing career, which started roughly 45 years ago, so a long time coming!
Thanks, Titleist!!
