#12 at Minor Park in Kansas City, Missouri on March 2, 2024, with Nick Manning, Jake Hager, and Kevin Bamberger. I hit an easy 9 iron to a back pin, center-left, 131 yards. It took two hops, rolled uphill slowly moving left to right, and dropped. We were lucky to get to watch the entire roll. I flipped the club (and forgot about it; a kind person returned to me), sprinted the other way like I was Steph Curry, and chest-bumped the closest guy in the group behind us (it was stacked Saturday at a muni). I didn't act like I'd been there before because I hadn't. I'll be 38 this fall, playing regularly since I was 7 or 8, and apart from having my son, it's the greatest momentary bliss I've ever experienced. If I never have another, this one will be enough. Was playing a Titleist Velocity for the first and surely not last time.
