On an unseasonably warm,26th day of January,Curt Mottram the previous club champion of Fostoria Country Club in Ohio, was playing golf in The Carpenter Group when he struck the perfect shot.
Curt,a steady 6 handicapper, who has been playing golf for over 40 years carded the second hole in one of his career on hole #8 playing 112 yards.
Mottram,as he is affectionately known to friends and family, was originally not planning to play golf on this day but at the encouragement of his loving wife,Shelly, who is recovering from surgery, decided to play to the joy of his teammates.
Word spread quickly throughout the community like an STD at The Villages as Curt is a well liked and respected friend to all who live here.
Curt finished his round with an even par 70 on the day and arrived at the clubhouse to a thunderous round of applause from his teammates and competitors,or maybe it was the fact that he was buying the drinks and the group is full of cheap drunks.
Either way, congratulations Curt,it couldn’t have happened to a better more deserving man.
