On a brisk June day in Oak Harbor, Washington I got my first ever hole in one on the Gallery Golf Course. Hole 15, it was a par 3 playing 180-190 yards. Took a 7 iron and gave it a shot just hoping to make the green. Kind of thinned it but it was tracking nicely with a slight draw and so I thought “wow this is turning out better than I thought” my buddy was there and thought the same. We didn’t see the ball after it stuck the green due to the early sunset casting on the front of the green. I said to my buddy “wouldn’t that be crazy if it went in?” since we couldn’t see the ball but we were certain it didn’t. We drive up to the green and still couldn’t see it so the doubts of even hitting the green began to set in. But I was struck with hope. I quickly ran up to just check the cup and THERE IT WAS! I started jumping and screaming for joy and should have dove in the water next to the green, but I didn’t. Neither of us could believe what happened. From then on I didn’t play another stroke for the rest of the round. I have since retired that 7 iron, glove, and ball haha. It was a white Titleist Velocity 3. A few weeks later I switched to playing right handed so now I have to get another to claim the impossible ;) Unreal experience!
