Christmas Eve match with my 15 yr old son at Arrowhead Country Club in Myrtle Beach SC. We played first 9 holes on Cypress course and last 9 on the Lakes course. Hole #8 was a par 3, 173 yds from the white tees. Water lined the left side of the fairway. Large bunkers in front of green. I pulled out my favorite Club, the cally Steelhead Plus 9 wood I got 2nd hand for 25 bucks. I tee'd up my pro 1v and my son told me I was bending my elbows and to straighten my arms through the swing. I did as he suggested and the Club head struck the ball in the sweet spot, making that glorious "png!" Sound. The ball tracked straight at the flag and I watched it hit the green but could not see its resting place. Getting on the green, the ball was not visible anywhere. I was confused. I saw where it hit. Where is it? Looking over the back side of the green and in the front bunker, nothing. Then my son asked if I looked in the cup? We walked over and looked down. There it was. Holy Sheet! I was in shock. My son was more excited than me and then I let out a scream and threw my putter in the air! Unbelievable feeling! Took 40 years for #1. Ready to try for #2!
