  1. Location: The Ridge Golf Course at Auburn, CA. Hole #14. 145 Yards. Gap Wedge

    The Story:

I was traveling back to my hometown of Nevada City, CA. The purpose of the travel was to go home for a memorial for my best friend who passed away 6 months ago (Taylor Dever he was a Notre Dame/Dallas Cowboys Football player). I was going to be back for a week and had every day planned out. The day before the memorial I scheduled to play golf with my Brother and Grand Parents at The Ridge Golf Course in Auburn, CA.

I had a normal below-average day of golf. I'm a big guy also ex-football player for the University of Hawaii and the Seahawks. My shots consisted of a lot of big drives and a lot of searching for the ball. I lost my last 2 Yellow McCormick Ranch Titlest Tour balls. I really loved those balls. We get to the 14th hole and it's par 3 about 145yards. I felt safe enough to take the PRO V1 out of my bag.

I get up to the Tee Box and am the first one to tee off. I grab my gap wedge only because I lost pitching wedge golfing with the boys a few weeks back. I look at the hole.. Look at my feet.. Take no practice swings... and boom! I smack the ball. I had to use some force the ball lands about a couple of feet in front of the hole and rolls in.

I stand there in shock and disbelief as my brother jumps all over and says "I've never seen one in person before" I had just hit my first hole in one. I look up to the sky and say a quiet "Thank you" with the thought that my best friend was looking down on me. I have goosebumps just writing this story.
