I think it's time for a redesighn. I bought a Stadry rain hat this spring I keep it in the golf bag for those rainy rounds. Three times now I have tried to were it but it's so hot I'm better off with out it. No vent holes at all. My buddy has a TM bucket rain hat with vent holes on the side. He wears it all the time to keep the sun off his neck. I can't were the Titleist hat 3 hole in a steady rain with out sweating so much I have to take it off..

It is designed to repel rain, not so much for keeping sun off of you. They have plenty of options in bucket and aussie hats that repel the sun.

    Hats off to you Tod!!!
  4. If you put ventilation holes in a stay dry hat you won't stay dry....

I have to echo Tim's comment above: rain hats are not for the sun. I've had your rain hat in the sun experience; not pleasant. If you have room, maybe put a sun hat in the bag as well.

I have a couple of Gore-Tex hunting bucket hats that I throw in my golf bag. These things will keep you dry, but no ventilation holes either, but you do not get wet. I just sweat and bare it.

I think everyone missed the point. What good is a rain hat that is to hot to wear!

Todd - I can't speak for Ohio. Where I am, when it is raining it is also cold. So no problem here with a too hot rain hat. As Chuck mentioned, you might have to search for a Gore-Tex hat, which should be waterproof and breathable.
