Whats up TT, I wanted to start this thread and see if anyone else has been seeing what i have been seeing? The Team Titleist FB group has had a few, 4 or so different posts showing the new GT2/3 heads blown out through either that toe, or backside. At first it only appeared to be the GT2 until the other day when i posed that question on the newest post. Someone responded with a story saying he has replaced 2 GT3 heads. What was said was Titleist is aware of the issue, saying it was a bas batch caused by the cold weather.

So my question is has anyone had these issues? Im planning on picking up a GT3 and this is a problem. No one wants to buy a new driver and have these issues, or have to wait for a replacement etc. Of course there were the tyipcal comments of misuse or abuse. Anything is possible i just dont see someone spending amount to smash a club on the ground. For the record the same exact issue has been reported with the TM Qi35

Please no. We don’t need more over-reactions and panic on what is a super small percentage of issues that happen on every new production and are just, if not more, prevalent on every brand. It’s like deciding to never fly on an airplane again because the news reported a crash. There is a margin of risk in everything and you can’t live your life believing perfection in everything is possible. Social media in general is never a good indicator of reality and will always highlight a problem or issue over the norm.

All manufacturers using newer technology since 2012 will have some equipment failures just because wood heads combine multiple material components. There are similar experiences from all 5 major OEMs. What postings like this do is over report failures since no one spends much time raving that their 5 year old driver is performing as well as day 1.
Those posting issues rarely report if Titleist was contacted and if they stood by the warranty. I’ve only had one issue, in 2012, and Titleist resolved the problem. Take these failure reports for what they are worth.

My GT2 heads on my driver and fairway 15 are holding up very well. Am playing three days a week. All my other equipment has as well; 913, 915, 917, TSI, (Drivers, Fairway, hybrids), 816h1 and TSR hybrids. Never had an issue with any of them.

I think, this kind of problem could occurred with any drivers.
These drivers are used on tour with very high swing speed and we do not see them explosing.
This should be a minor proportion.

I think also one reason should be caused sometimes by the place you it the ball on the face. When you are hitting at the junction of face and top of the driver that should not help. This is a personal impression, not a scientific fact.

I still have the TSR2 driver and have some serious issued with it. I'm either walking slower or taking more steps to get to my ball. And for some reason I can't get that snap hook to work as well anymore. I miss the adventure of wandering through the trees looking for my ball and observing all the various wildlife out there.

I'd be willing to bet that most clubhead issues are related to the way people treat their equipment. I know I'm a bit anal about my club care, but clubs are an expensive investment and should be well protected. Last year I refused to ride with a fellow golfer because of the way he was driving the cart. He was hitting every bump, curb, pothole etc, at full speed and the clubs banging around in the back sounded like a train wreck. Every time you hear that, it's another ding or scratch on your investment.

If you really want that GT3, I say get it, take care of it, and enjoy it.

This is exactly why social media is a mess. I have 2 guys in my circle that swing 125+, a 3rd guy pushing 130, all Titleist guys like us faithful here are. I know those guys have never had a club break or crack, or a face or crown damaged. I stand behind Titleist all day long, and I agree with you guys, most are operator error. Hitting off mats is also not a great idea, IMO, at least regular ground gives a little. Then again, this is assembly line construction, and all manufacturers are in the same boat. Virtually the same materials, same place, same time.

Firstly thank you for all the responses. The entire reason i posted this on the forum instead of fb is because I feel there is a more knowledgeable level of player here. I felt id get a better depth of information. Instead of the typical "what do i do here" post. I know guys on the forum are more devoted Titleist guys. I thought if there was a large response here id have a better idea at gauging the issue. Regardless i know Titleist always stands behind their product, That was never really a thought.
Thank you for the input, GT3 is on the way. TSR3 is guilting me.
