Look into the Mitsubishi KKS line of shafts, or possibly tipping the shafts you have. The inexpensive route would be an extension in your existing shaft, and tipping it. I'm thankfully older now, but I used to be a bomber. It took some effort, and money, to get the proper shaft in my driver. I would start by finding a good repair shop. The Golfsmith guys I use in Tampa are fantastic with modifications. A good fitter will be looking at launch and spin probably more than clubhead speed....

Shortening the tip will help. A good fitter that can work with your swing may find a better shaft in terms of how you load the shaft at transition and release at the end. X-Stiff only applies relative to that line of shaft, no generalization across lines can be assumed.

It all depends on the brand of shaft. i recomend going fujikura TS-X-stiff and even tapper it 1 inch i bet it wont feel so whippy i average about a 120 club head speed and thats what i use.

Cheers greens and fairways to all
