  1. A couple of years ago, mostly for cost reasons, I switched away from using Titleist balls (mostly Pro V1x, some Tour Speed) and started playing the srxn Q Star Tour and they worked pretty well for me overall. But I started noticing that they weren’t checking up on the greens as much as I would have liked.

So this past weekend, I bought a sleeve of Pro V1 balls and a sleeve of Pro V1x and alternated them every 3 holes. They both felt similar to me off the tee and I was getting pretty similar distance results. But the biggest difference was on the greens. They both checked up better than the srxn for sure but the Pro V1x was the clear winner for me on approach shots, medium wedge shots, and chips near the green. I loved the way the Pro V1x performed.

I am 56 years old, 17 HCP, and not a very long hitter. However, I’ve gotten to the point where I can pretty much keep the ball in play and often play a round without losing a ball, so while I’m not thrilled with paying $55/dozen, the balls really do play well for me.

Looks like I’ll be sticking with the V1x!

Love the ProV1x for my game too. The new 2025 model is even better. I have worked hard over the last several years at keeping the ball in play. Minimal lost balls makes the price of premium balls much better. You can stock up on old model balls after the 2025 version hits the shelves. Good luck and low rounds ahead.

I now prefer the ProV1 but sometimes experiment playing other balls, and I'll say one thing about the Q Star. No matter what condition or what shot I play, I can't get that ball to do anything good.

    Good choice.
My average green fee is near $50 walking at municipal courses and $5 for a Gatorade,. I don’t average a lost ball per round. Paying $4.50 a ball or $2.50 a ball isn’t going to make a difference. If I feel I play better with a Pro-V,, why not?
  5. The pro v1 this year feels great but I feel it should have more spin.

V1x is the BOMB. I tried switching to the V1 but the x does more of what my game needs.
