Great to see Titleist realize the new Pro V1 lineup today. I am confused about the spin though.

I currently play a Pro V1x to as I'm a high spinning player and the old V1x spins less. However from reading the write-up is looks like the Pro V1 is now the lower spinning ball? Is this correct?

Correct me if I'm wrong ... but I believe they spin the same off the driver. As far as the irons go, the ProV1X will spin more than the ProV1. It will then go higher and have a steeper decent as opposed to the V1 will be a more penetrating flight and get a little more roll out. Overall distance stays the same but it's just How you want to get there.

the both spin the same off the driver. the Pro V1x will spin more off the irons and wedge shots. I like the distance with the Pro V1x than the spin with the Pro V1. I can still work the ball how i want around the greens with the Pro V1x.

I think what Duncan is referring to is the iron and short game spin is higher on the new V1x, whereas previously the old V1 had the higher spin in those areas (as Darron is alluding to with a switch up).

Yeah, they either switched it up or the verbiage is directly related to the previous models. Reading it side by side it can be confusing. I have read a few pros that were playing the V1X before have switched to the V1 and vice verse. We're all just gonna have to get a sleeve of both. Throw them both in the bag out of the box and next time we play go grab a ball without looking at the alignment line for what type of ball it is! LoL
  7. Can someone from team Titleist please advise on this issue. I switched to ProV1X last season because of the lower spin off the driver and it helped me a lot in hitting the ball straighter off the tee, as well with the irons and woods.. Also around the greens I actually wanted to have slightly less spin which it helped with as well. Can someone please advise which ball will give me the lower spin? I make a ball purchase every season in March so I want to know which ball will give me what I'm looking for. Thanks.
  8. Just to confirm what I saw on their videos... They say that they both have low spin off the tee. But, the V has low iron spin while the X has more iron spin. Also, they both have very good short game spin. But, the X beats out the V for short game spin. Hope this helps...

I ordered 2 doz of the 2017 Pro V1. I tried them when i got the test sleeves, amazing ball, long and great spin around the green.
  10. I think I'm making the switch to the 1X for this year, and maybe more.
