Hi, José.
The Titleist 384 Tour was launched in 1983. For many players, the revolutionary 384-dimple pattern (60 more dimples than its predecessor) resulted in a penetrating trajectory and a golf ball that was significantly longer than other wound construction, balata-covered golf balls at the time.
The "LT" in the 384 LT ball that you found stands for "Low Trajectory" and was a popular option for players in windy conditions.
Hope this helps!

I found this ball a while ago. All I know is that it is old and feels really weird when I bounce it on a wedge ;)

Wow! another cool golf ball. Check out the uniform dimple pattern and depth.
What is the description of feel for this piece of history?

It kinda feels like a ball of rubber. Its a weird feeling. Maybe like a heavy marshmallow ;) Probably because I'm not used to it tho. The cover doesn't really feel soft at all. My buddies always freak out when they bounce it on the wedge. Everyone always says that they thought it would feel like bouncing a rock, but it's just the opposite. It barely makes a sound too. Not clicky like a modern ball.
It also has the letters P L A on the side. Wonder if that means anything?

That is awesome. Does anyone on here actually collect old golf balls?
Wow, Chris! That ball was probably made between 1932 and 1935, before our first Titleist branded golf balls were produced. No idea what the "P L A" marking on the side is. Maybe a factory code or an after-market personalization, but we didn't start customizing golf balls in-house until 1940. Hang onto this one!

That is Awesome Rick! I would have never guessed it to be that old. But I haven't ever seen a ball that old either, so what do I know? ;)
The P L A on the side is actually indented in the cover, not printed like the numbers or Acushnet. So I'm guessing that it was part of the mold and not personalized.
Now I'm really curious about what the PLA is?
Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Hey Marcus, (3) 1 gallon buckets is probably around 600 balls. I currently have over 3600 in my basement that I have entered into an Excel spreadsheet. I am kind of going thru it now and have at least 6 different "Acushnet" balls including a "Acushnet Green Ray" ball that has 2 green dots on each side and I've seen it go for $50+. I forget right now how old it is. I will put up some pics in a bit, I have been doing quite a bit of research lately on a lot of the older balls I have.

Here's another oldie...
It has "Acushnet K" on the side. Funny that it has a high number!

I have a pro v1x in my bag that I found with the number 86. How come that high number? It is not the 2013 model tho! It before that

Sorry no picture, but got an "Acushnet" "Club Special" the other day (yes I can remember playing those balls back in my early youth, unfortunately), but gave it to one of the older members who collects old balls for his collection, along with a "Faultless" that I believe was from the late 60's or very early 70's, which I believe LT championed or endorsed way back.
