Pro V1 & Pro V1x Spin Rates

    I've been playing for about a year and a half and I've finally found that I'm consistently hitting the ball great and executing what I want. However, I've recently seen a little more spin on approach shot with a Pro V1 as opposed to a Pro V1x, I love them both but I'm still deciding which one to stick with. Like I've said, I've found some consistency, so my big draws and fades aren't as bad as they've use to be, so I've started playing the V1s as opposed to the V1xs for my approaches because I see more spin. But I'm clueless if what I'm seeing it the truth, or if I'm just hitting the V1s better than the V1xs. So anyways, back too the big question. Does the Pro V1 have a substantial leg up on the Pro V1x in terms of approach and greenside spin?

    Hi Christian,

    Here is a spin chart that should help illustrate the spin differences between all models for a variety of shots. As you can see below, the Pro V1 and Pro V1x are generating similar spin with shots around the green.

    At the end of the day, I would recommend going with the model that is delivering the short game results and overall performance that is helping you lower your scores.

    Mike,

    I may have mis-read your response and your charts in your reponse to Christian.  I have the same questions/issues with the Pro V1 and the Pro V1x.

    I have been playing the Pro V1x balls for 3 years and the side-spin was just wrecking my game from the tee and from the fairways and roughs.  Too much right or too much left.  So, I started playing the Pro V1 ball two weeks ago and they feel softer and went straighter.  However, around the greens, they did not spin as much as the Pro V1x.  Not a bad thing because I can chip and putt fairly well.

    Any ideas as to what may be going on without actually seeing me hit the ball?  I am a 5.5 GHIN, hit the driver from 250-290, the 3 metal from 230-260 and my 8 iron 160 yards (carry)

    Hi Jon,

    As I mentioned to Christian above, we always recommend going with the model that helps you shoot your lowest scores. That is why we really believe that the on-course evaluation is critical to finding the right Titleist golf ball for your game.

    If you're seeing the overall performance attributes that you are looking for in the Pro V1 and the results on the scorecard are looking good, I would say you're on the right track.
