I am a decent golfer i shoot between 85-90 consistently and what usually kills me is blading my wedges not accuracy or driving etc. I am interested in deciding between the prov1 or prov1x. I have a steep swing and generally develop a lot of spin so I don't really need to stress that. Which one will help me improve my game without having to sacrifice too many elements of my game.

Sounds like you need to work on your game from a hundred in, instead of worrying about you ball. jmo dont see how a ball will stop your blade?

The saying is, weekend golfers spend 75% of their time on the driving range on their long game, the pros are the reverse.  From time to time, my local big box stores and municipal courses offer 30 minute large group lessons, from putting to drivers, so I can usually pick up one tip if that portion of my game isn't working.  My 2 biggest problems with my short game having to use my short game (long game accuracy...sigh) and I need to be confident - my mishits are from not accelerating through the ball once I decide on a swing but mentally back off in the swing.  Until I generate more spin, NXT and ProV still stop the same and neither make the difference on accuracy.  But I now only occassionaly blade a shot and know almost immediately what caused it.

Steep swing i would normaly recomend the x. this is becouse when steep swingers hit fades or draws they tend to be more hooks and slices. pick a ball and stick with it for consitancy in your game. as far as blading. i think you knew that your ball has nothing to do with that. so i wont patrenize you with trying to your question. but advice on that problem would be pace your club before you take your stance and grip the club last. don't worrie about how much you choke down on the club when your doing this let it be a natural placement of the hands. Key things to remember. rarly are you on truely flat ground. the ball will either be above or below even by just a slight bit. could be up hill or down hill by even a slight bit. those thing can throw off your natural swing arc to impact position. you can control the club speed easaly but those minor deveations in elivation can mean the diffrence in skulls or fat shots.

    cheers greens and fairways

p.s. im to lazy to use spell check tonight sorry
