    Hi John,

Great to see you back on the boards! Sounds like some great weather in Michigan. Keep sending it our way here in the east. The current Pro V1 and Pro V1x models are the same generation that we launched in 2011. The new golf balls for 2012 include the NXT Tour, NXT Tour S (available in white and high-optic yellow), Velocity and DT SoLo (available in white and optic yellow).

    Talk to you soon.

    - Mike

Hi MIke, I hope your winter has gone well. Just received the new stock of ProV1's for the year, but I am also going to give a shot at the ProV1x's. I have tried them in the past, but always prefered the V1's. Anything I should look for while giving them a shot? I am scheduled for the 1st RI state event on May 8th and 9th and hoping to get the ball type locked down. Thanks -Brian

    Hi Brian,

Great to hear from you! Good luck getting dialed-in for the tournament.

On the Pro V1x, players tend to see a bit higher trajectory and a peak that is further down range. This can result is increased carry distances for most players. Keep in mind, the distance differential is only around 3 to 5 yards between all Titleist golf ball models, so it's not really game changing. At the end of the day, your best bet is to hit the course and hit a lot of different types of shots side-by-side with each golf ball and determine which one will work best for your game.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Brian, I am about to get the buy 3 get one free but need information before buying. Everybody is mentioning that the ProV1X has a little bit higher trajectory than the ProV1 and the prior 09 ProV1X version. I know it's tough to give accurate number on this because of launch angle and swing speed affect the height but what sould we expect to see. 10% 20% higher? I play both. Like both. On some days I prefer the X and some others the regular V. My swing speed is about 112-118mph. 188 yards 6 iron. 265-280 carry on my driver. I can get some 300 when I am on it! I don't look for distance as you can see. I want the ball to be more penetrating. just so you know my pro is working with me on my release so we can deloft the club a little bit more at impact. Little story about your 2 balls. On a 155 yards island green a flushed a nice 9 Iron straight at the flag. Pin is about 9 yards from the front. The regular ProV1 landed right at the pin and spun back in the water!!!! My friend said wow what a spin! So I rehitted the shot witht the X ... Height looked the same to me....about same distance so I told myself : this one will bounce and stop...perfect! NO!!!!!! Spun back in the water also !! So partial and short game is not a spinning issue! It's my long game trajectory I want to maximize by lowering my height. Is the regular ProV1 really more penetrating than the X ? Now that you know a little bit about my game. What should I expect to see with both balls. Keep in mind that I am from Canada and we don't have all the titleist pro fitters than you have. Thanks

The launch angle difference isn't significant enough to change distance but maybe spin on the greens. The launch angle with irons is a tad higher and with a little less spin so the ball will have a softer landing than the PROV1.
