I have a tour speed swing speed but for some reason I control the Pro V1 better than the X and goes as far if not father. Is this common? I always heard that the harder the swing the more you should be using the X.. Am I wrong?

  2. I wouldn't say it is common but it isn't abnormal. Most Titleist tour pros play the ProV1x because the ProV1 is a little too soft. However, perhaps two of fastest swings on tour (Adam Scott and Gary Woodland) both play the ProV1 for personal preference. If you find that you can control the ProV1 better than the ProV1x then clearly thats the ball you should be using. Hope this helps!

I agree with Cameron! I, like you, have a higher swing-speed (117-20 with driver) but find it much easier to control the ProV1 over the "X". I decided to stop trying to figure out why or what is going on to make this a fact. Once I did that, I realized that it had more to do with my wedge and iron game over my driver game. I liked this ball because it got me closer to the hole with those clubs. I have no idea about what it does with my driver - all I know is that it works. Just go with what gives you the best result and forget about why!

Chis D.... I would have to totally agree with both Chis B and Cameron. Like the both of them, I swing in the high teens to mid twenties at full driver. I'm with Chis B on why I select the ProV 1X. Neither ball has that much difference in length. At least not enough to worry about. Play the ball that you score better with from your iron play. There isn't a tour pro alive that chooses a ball cause he gets a extra ten, he chooses it cause hit can knock five feet closer. What ever feels best you.

thank you all.. I am playing the pro v1 now.  I control it better on all shots and it stays low on the driver for me.  The X seems to ballon with me at times.
