Proctor, I'm just a golfer and not an authority on this, but I believe it may to do with the material used in the covers. Some materials are softer than others and thus when they stamp the name into the ball, each cover requires a different stamp in regards to the thickness of the letters and the pressure at which it is applied. That may not be the correct answer, but I think you'll agree it sure sounds good! ;-) Duke
