    hey fellow TTers

Shot 77 today on my home course - my best round ever, using a Penta.  Sorry guys but this ball really performs very well in all areas; long off the tee, beautiful flight and spin off irons and wedges and like butter off the putter.  I won't give all the credit to the ball, as I'm sure I could have shot this score today with my trusty Pro V1s, but the Penta really is a joy to play.

I believe I'll still play the Pro V1 from time to time, but this ball is very exciting and may become my #1 choice.

Thanks Dogloski - it's my 2nd round in the 70s this year, plus a few 81s and 82s - I also had 3 88s in a row before this 77 - so I feel good about my game - just gotta keep refining and evolving.

  4. A 77...not too bad. You'd have shot 76 or better if you were using a Pro V1.

    Nice round!  Congrats!

I picked up 2 doz at Golfsmith on a buy one get one deal.  Nice ball.  Great (perhaps mismarked) deal.

The competition is there.   I've trusted Titleist  for results for as as long as I can remember.  So far it continues to be my primary choice.  BUT BUT BUT it is becoming more difficult to justify it's premium pricing  for comparable performance. Competition is great, isn't it?

    Nice round JP.

I shot 83 today using NXT Tour, usually use NXT. Course conditions and weather weren't good.

    I haven't tried Penta.

Traitor.  Just kidding.  Nice round but just think it would have been 73 with a Titleist.  lol

I shot 76 this week on a difficult course I haven't played often (I'm a 7). I happened to be trying a sleeve of Z-Stars I had won. The Z-Stars were fine balls, but I know they had nothing to do with my good round. I will now go back to my regular ProV1x's, which I know are great balls and have worked consistently for me for years. Yes, other companies put out good balls, but none seems to be as consistently good as Titleist, year to year. I'm not switching!

77 is a fine score. I really disliked the Penta but to each his own. Might as well keep firing at pins, fall is on the way

Good job!!!  As long as you were still using Titleist sticks then its fine... you could have saved a couple more stokes with a ProV1, just think about it...

I did shoot my best round (73) before using a TP Red. for awhile i sticked with it being supersticious and all... i'm glad they discontinued the model so I went back using Prov1's again. Over the weekend I shot back to back 78's, and a 38 the other night on my league match. These recent fortunate events helped in my decision on using strictly ProV1x's (high numbered) from now on...

Now if I could just get my first Hole-In-One using a ProV1x... that will be the 'nail in the cofffin'!!!

  13. Excellent job! I have broken 80 but not quite 77. Keep setting goals for yourself, and keep shooting lower scores! I read your post of when you finally broke 80 and I was quite impressed. Best of luck with golf.

thanks Nunzio!  my goal now is to shoot in the 70s on a regular basis.  Since the 77 I shot 92 and then this past weekend, had an 84, that was kind of gratifying because I wasn't hitting the ball all that well, and still turned in a decent score.  Back into the 70s very soon I hope!

When I had the 79 in July it was with one buddy and two strangers, this 77 was with my regular foursome, so it felt really good.

OH JP,,,BY THE WAY,,I SHOOT 77 EVERY DAY,,,THEN I GO AHEAD AND FINISH ABOUT AN HOUR LATER.STILL THINK THE NEW PRO V1X IS YJE BEST BALL I HAVE EVER PLAYED.KEEP PLAYING GOOD, MY FRIEND.

  16. I have played some very good golf the past few weeks. I normally use B330S and the B330RXS in cold weather. The last two rounds I played I shot 70 and 69 of home course 6980 yrds. I also used my MP63 irons. Today I played same track and used an older set of Tour Forged and a PV1x and shot 71. I used my D2 Driver and my Fd 15 and FH 19. Wedges Miura 53 and 57. point is that we all have our preferances and are Brand loyal but todays technology is so good that there is very little differance. from the 3 balls mentioned, the B330RXS is for me at least 10 yrds longer than the other two. however, it is slightly softer on the putter and on longer puts feel spungy. I maintain thet the new 910 series Driver, FW metals and Hybrids are the best on the market. my personal view is that the 910 MB and CB is slightly behind the MP 68/69 MP and the MP 63 CB. I would also say the 910 AP2 fall short compared to the MP53's. my personal opinion.

  17. The ball really doesn't make that much of a difference. I shot my best round (76) with a Burner Tour I had used for multiple rounds before. I still believe the ProV1 is still the best feeling golf ball when struck.

I personally disagree. I've shot my best and worst rounds this year with either a Titleist NXT or Pro V1. I have shot in the hundreds with the NXT, but I shot 86 with a Pro V1. Pro V's are a bit pricey, but they are worth it to me. They are the best ball in golf. A good substitute to these are the NXT Tour. They are not quite Pro V's, but they are still good balls for those who won't pay he price for Pro V1's.
