What's the biggest difference between the prior generation and the new generation Pro V1? NOT THE X

Honestly? I really don't think there are any major differences. The feel off the putter could be a little firmer, But I think the big differences are in the way they are produced i:e better construction process to improve overall quality.

Unless you are a high level tour player or maybe a + handicap, I personally don't think there is a lot of noticeable difference.

They are great golf balls. Get a sleeve and try them out.

The only big difference is compression. the 2009 Pro V1's were around 100 compression golf balls. The faster your swing speed, the higher compression ball you should play. The 2011 pro v1's are around 90 compression. I have an 85 MPH swing speed so that ball 2011 version is good for me. other than that there is no big difference.

  4. Where can I get a cross refrence listing which marking on Pro V1 balls = what year(s)? I found the markings on the http://www.usga.org/ConformingGolfBall/gball_list.pdf but I can find any years. I want to know how old the balls are I am buying and I do not trust sales people.

The 2011 has a little better spin and putter feel. That's about it. If you still have some '09 Pro V1s I'd keep using those.
