There’s some bonus golf this week as the PGA TOUR rolls into Alabama for the 2017 Barbasol Championship.
And with 300 FedExCup points on the line, players will be battling to top the leaderboard and make a move up in the rankings as the FedExCup Playoffs start in less than 30 days at The Northern Trust.
The Lake Course at RTJ Trail (Grand National) plays host once again and, by all accounts, designer Robert Trent Jones Sr. viewed this location as the single greatest site for a golf complex he had ever seen.
The course will play to a setup of 7,302 yards with a par of 71 and features 12 holes that run alongside the shores of Lake Saugahatchee. The course is also known for its group of par-3s that are tough and can be the deciding factors for who ends up in the winner’s circle.
However, if history is any indicator of what to expect, there are still plenty of birdies to be made on The Lake Course.
In 2015, Titleist Brand Ambassador Scott Piercy set the pace by posting a 19-under-par 265 total to capture the inaugural title and was followed up by Titleist golf ball loyalist Aaron Baddeley (Pro V1x) who went on to win last year (after a playoff) with an 18-under-par 266 total.
Best of luck to all of #TeamTitleist this week and here’s to seeing some low numbers on those scorecards!

TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS
This week at the 2017 Barbasol Championship, Titleist is once again the overwhelming golf ball choice, with 95 players trusting a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, nearly six times the nearest competitor with 16 and more than all competitors combined.
Titleist was also the top choice among players in the hybrids category (30) as well as the irons category with 39 sets in play. Vokey Design Wedges also topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (182) category.
