Titleist Brand Ambassador David Pastore (Pro V1x) held off fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Dan McCarthy (Pro V1x) with a birdie on the 72nd hole at Cherry Hill Club to capture his first Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada crown at the Niagara Championship.
“I am still in shock,” said Pastore, who has battled a wrist injury all season. “I played two events and I finished in the middle of the pack. I’ve been working really hard for a long time and I felt like it was around the corner at some point.”
The 24-year-old Pastore closed with a final-round 66, which gave him a 14-under-par 270 winning total.
McCarthy, who also fired a final-round 66, was riding the most dominant season ever in Canadian Tour history with four wins and a record $137,883 in earnings. With his runner-up performance, McCarthy secured the Mackenzie Tour’s Order of Merit title.
