LPGA | U.S. WOMEN’S OPEN

Hinaku Shibuno (Pro V1x) leads Amy Olson (Pro V1) by one shot heading into Monday’s weather-postponed final round, with the Top 9 players on the leader board all trusting Titleist golf balls as they compete for the year’s final major title.

  • Titleist is the No. 1 ball at the event with 119 players, more than 10 times the nearest competitor with 11.
  • Stay tuned as the field wraps up the final round.

EUROPEAN TOUR | DP WORLD TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Matt Fitzpatrick (Pro V1x) birdied the first four holes of his final round, closing in 4-under 68 to win the European Tour’s season finale for the second time (2016 and 2020) and lead a 1-2-3-4 finish for Titleist golf ball players.

  • Fitzpatrick posted four rounds in the 60s for a 15-under 273 total, one shot clear of Lee Westwood (Pro V1x), who birdied two of his final three holes to win the season-long Race to Dubai points title for the third time.
  • Victor Hovland (Pro V1) finished tied for third with a fellow Pro V1 player.
  • Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice in the limited-field event with 47 players (72%), more than six times the nearest competitor with 7.
  • Fitzpatrick’s win marked the 17th for Titleist golf ball players to end the 2019-2020 season on the European Tour.

TITLEIST TSi DRIVERS LEAD THE WAY IN DUBAI

Titleist was the most played driver at the DP World Tour Championship with 19 players, marking the first time that Titleist has won the driver count at the European Tour’s finale.

  • Of the 19 drivers in play, 17 were new TSi2 and TSi3 models – including eight players gaming TSi without an agreement. Three of those players finished in the Top 9 (and four in the top 13), including the champion.
  • The champion switched to a new TSi3 driver in the days leading up to the event.
  • Having played three different driver brands since the CJ Cup in October, he worked with Titleist Tour Rep Liam McDougall to put all of them head-to-head during a rigorous testing session.
  • In the end, he chose the new TSi3 (9.0°) with Mitsubishi Tensei AV Orange 65 TX shaft, standard SureFit hosel setting (A1), and the SureFit Track Weight set at H2 (in the heel) to accommodate his strike location.
  • “Listening to what the player and his coaches were trying to achieve with the driver, we started looking at counterbalanced shaft options, where he could apply force to the butt end of the club and feel strength in the handle,” McDougall said. “He preferred the looks of the TSi3 head and the face had the right amount of bulge and roll for him. We were also able to improve his strike location by adjusting the new SureFit Track Weight toward the heel of the club. By moving his miss pattern, we were able to bring him to a stronger launch and spin window that helped him gain distance and accuracy.”
  • For the week, he averaged 300 yards off the tee (16th) and finished first in Driving Accuracy (76.8%).
  • Last week’s winner on the European Tour at the Golf in Dubai Championship  – Antoine Rozner (Pro V1x) – also trusted a TSi3 (9.0°) driver.
