The weather is warming up and golf courses around the country are blooming in vibrant colors and richer tones of green. Golf course grounds crews are back on their mowers and slick putting surfaces are right around the corner. To play well on courses with fast, undulated greens, you'll need to putt with creativity and touch — and we have some expert putting stroke advice and drills on how to do just that.
As Titleist staff member Corey Lundberg explains, great putting is a combination of perceptive green reading and the ability to apply the right amount of force — what we commonly call feel. To develop your putting skills in both areas, Corey shares a great putting drill that will help you paint a vivid picture in your mind and tap in to your body's natural ability to respond to visual stimuli, therefore helping you putt better on fast greens.
Give Corey's Gate-Gate-Square drill a try and let us know if it helps you gain some confidence on fast greens.
And to bring your game from good to great, and from great to world-class, be sure to check out the instructional programs Corey and Cameron McCormick have to offer at Altus Performance.
