Knowing where to miss shots is a critical part of every player’s strategy heading into this week’s Masters. Depending on pin locations, there are a number of spots around the greens at Augusta National from which it is simply impossible to get up and down. The best play is often 100 feet away and beneath the hole, rather than 10 feet away, but above it.
We are only human, though, so what can you do when you make that inevitable mistake and you find yourself short-sided? Fortunately for us, Titleist staff member Cameron McCormick has a solution - a “wide, sliding spinning shot,” as he calls it, that may be your “Get out of Jail Free” card the next time you find yourself on the wrong side of a tricky hole location.
