PGA TOUR | QBE Shootout
Titleist golf ball players Jason Kokrak (Pro V1) and Kevin Na (Pro V1x) teamed up to win the QBE Shootout.
- Kokrak and Na birdied 12 of their last 13 holes during Sunday fourballs, closing in 12-under 60 to win by one shot.
- For Kokrak, the win continues a 14-month stretch in which he has also won three individual events on the PGA TOUR – The CJ Cup at Shadow Creek, Charles Schwab Challenge and last month’s Houston Open.
- Na, who won the Sony Open in January, has raised a trophy on the PGA TOUR every year since 2018, while finishing third in this year’s FedExCup Playoffs.
KOKRAK ON HIS PRO V1 GOLF BALL
- “Pro V1 has been awesome for me. It spins the right amount with the irons and the driver – I think that’s a big key for longer players. You get the spin too high, it doesn't travel far enough. You get the spin too low, it dives out the sky and is hard to control. And I just like the feel overall better because it’s softer on the greens.
- “The consistency shows up when you’re trying to work the ball in a specific window. If you’re in the fairway at Augusta, or in the fairway at Hilton Head, you could be blocked out and you need to keep it low and work the ball one way or the other... I think that’s a big key, being able to hit it in the correct window that you’re comfortable with, and that’s what I found with the Titleist. I’ve played different golf balls in the past where I’ve struggled with that – where I’m trying to hit a certain shot and it just comes out quite a bit different than what I’m envisioning.”
LPGA | LPGA Final Qualifying
Na Rin An (Pro V1) closed out the two-week, eight-round LPGA Final Qualifying tournament with a 6-under 66, Sunday’s best round, to win medalist honors.
- An, a two-time winner on the Korean LPGA, who finished the 144 holes at 33 under, was one of 46 players who earned their 2022 LPGA cards.
- Of the 46 qualifiers, 41 played a Titleist golf ball including the top three finishers.
- Finishing one shot back, the runner-up – the reigning 2021 SEC Player of the Year from the University of South Carolina, and former No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings – played a Pro V1x Left Dash golf ball, TSi3 10.0° driver, TSi2 15.0° fairway, NEW T200 3-iron, 620 CB 5-9 irons and four Vokey Design SM8 wedges.
- The third-place finisher – who earned Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honors this season on the Ladies European Tour – played a Pro V1x.
- Titleist Brand Ambassador Emily Kristine Pedersen – a two-time European Solheim Cup team member – regained her LPGA card with a T-14 finish, playing a Pro V1 golf ball, TSi3 10.0° driver, TSi2 16.5° fairway, TSi3 20.0° hybrid, NEW T100 (4-9) irons, Vokey Design SM8 46.10F, 52.08F, 56.08M, 60.10S wedges and Scotty Cameron Special Select Fastback tour prototype putter.
PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS | Final Qualifying
Titleist staff member Rob Labritz, PGA Director of Golf at the GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills, N.Y., closed with a flawless 7-under 64 to win medalist honors by three shots and earn full playing privileges on the 2022 PGA TOUR Champions.
- Labritz – playing a Pro V1 Yellow golf ball, TSi3 10.0° driver, NEW T100 and T100•S irons and Vokey Design SM8 wedges among his Titleist equipment – made seven birdies over a 10-holes stretch Sunday to pull away from runners-up Thongchai Jaidee (Pro V1x) and David Branshaw (Pro V1).
- The fourth-place finisher also played Pro V1, while Tom Gillis (Pro V1) finished fifth, as Pro V1 and Pro V1x players claimed all five fulltime tour cards for the 2022 season.
- Said Labritz, who has been a club professional since he was 19 years old and turned 50 on May 31: “I’ve been envisioning this happening. And it did, which is crazy. It shows the power of the mind. I’m beyond the moon. I’m almost speechless. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this, to know that my golf game held up.”
- Labritz has made eight appearances in the PGA Championship, earning low club professional in 2010 at Whistling Straits and 2019 at Bethpage Black. “This is what I’ve worked for my entire life,” he said after Friday’s third round. “Every time I’m out hitting golf balls, I’m thinking of this. I’m thinking of the shots I need to hit to make sure this happens. It’s super important, but it’s super fun, too. I’m doing what I love, and there’s nothing better.”

LABRITZ WINS WITH MIXED SET OF NEW T-SERIES IRONS
- Labritz earned his 2022 PGA TOUR Champions card gaming a mixed set of NEW T200 and NEW T100•S irons he put in play after a fitting with Titleist fitter Nick Geyer this summer.
- Labritz, who had previously played a full set of prior generation T200 irons, moved into the NEW T200 4, 5, 6 and 7 irons, while also making the switch to the NEW T100•S 8, 9 and pitching wedge (all with True Temper AMT White S300 shaft).
- “Rob loved the sleeker look of the NEW T200’s, he said they felt more solid and he could feel the club head moving a little faster through the turf,” Geyer said. “He also gained some speed and peak height, and knew they were going right in the bag. With NEW T100•S, he preferred the smaller profile in the scoring clubs but what really stood out was that they were just as fast as T200. It was a very smooth transition for him into the mixed set.”
- Said Labritz earlier this season at the PGA Championship: “The T200’s are in my bag to give me maximum forgiveness and I hit the ball far with these things. All these guys that are on tour, man, they hit the ball far, so I want to try to keep up with them. I played a few practice rounds with some other Titleist guys today (at Kiawah Island) and they’re tour players. I’m a club pro, but I could still hit it out there with them because of my T200’s.”
HOW LABRITZ MARKS HIS PRO V1 YELLOW GOLF BALL
- “This is what I’ve done for a long time, ever since I was a kid. I put a little smiley face because I’m always happy to be on the golf course. And then I make it a little mean guy (by adding eyebrows to the smiley face) because I like to crush the golf course. So that’s on every Titleist golf ball that I play and it’s also a tattoo that my son actually has on his wrist, which is kind of cool.”
LABRITZ ON HIS TSi DRIVER
- “I just love the way this club (TSi3 10.0° driver, Graphite Design TOUR AD IZ X shaft) works. I mean, it looks great when you set it down on the ground and then obviously when the ball comes off, it comes off with a lot of speed. So I’m in love with the driver, probably one of my best, I think it's my best club in the bag to be honest with you.”
PGA TOUR AUSTRALASIA | Victorian PGA Championship
Titleist Brand Ambassador Blake Windred – playing a Pro V1 golf ball and full bag of Titleist equipment – closed in 3-under 69 to win the opening event of the PGA Tour of Australasia’s 2021-22 season by one shot.
- It was Windred’s first win as a professional.
- “It is one goal that I’ve had on my mirror for the last couple of years,” he said. “I just haven’t been able to tick off the first professional win. To be honest, I was thinking about it with three holes to go. I was thinking about ticking that off. I was trying to stay in the moment but it’s very hard not to think about such a big thing.”
PGA TOUR LATINOAMÉRICA | Scotia Wealth Management Chile Open
The winner of the Scotia Wealth Management Chile Open trusted a Pro V1x golf ball to a wire-to-wire victory in Chile, returning to the winner’s circle on the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica for the first time in nine years.
- The winner, who earned his tour card two weeks ago with a T-5 finish at Q-School, opened with a 10-under 62 at the Club de Golf Sport Frances, and slept on the lead every night.
- On Sunday, he birdied the last two holes to win by one.
