The U.S. Open is special among golf majors because each year, the final round takes place on Father's Day, a time when we can recognize and thank the men who brought us into this world.
For many of us, it was our fathers who introduced us to so many foundational life experiences – learning to tie our own shoes, our first bicycle rides without training wheels, playing golf for the first time. Many of us can also trace our first laughs and the development of our own senses of humor to our dads.
A tiny percentage of us are very lucky in this regard and can thank our genuinely funny fathers for their wit and the droll way they view the world.
For the sad, overwhelming majority of us, however, we can only sigh and shake our heads, thinking back on the tired, corny jokes that littered our childhoods.
Yes, bad jokes are the birthright of fathers and to celebrate this comedic tone-deafness, we reached out to a number of Titleist Tour Players for some of their Bad Dad favorites.
Please welcome to the Titleist Amateur Hour stage Danielle Kang, Cam Smith, Tony Finau, Lydia Ko, Thorbjorn Olesen, Scott Stallings, Tyrrell Hatton, Marina Alex, Henrik Stenson, Eddie Pepperell, Charles Howell III and Ian Poulter.
We hope you enjoy the video above, but we kindly ask that you not share any of the lame gags presented. Make this the year that we break the cycle. : )
From all of us at Titleist, Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there, funny and unfunny alike!
